Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- started a major upgrade of the Niulangguan modern logistics industrial park on Nov 9, with a planned total investment of 5.2 billion yuan ($794.56 million).
The park is located in Ergezhai new logistics industry cluster area. It is a large-scale multi-functional comprehensive logistics park with integrated loading and unloading, storage, processing, delivery and cargo distribution facilities.
Last year, its cargo throughput hit 10.38 million metric tons, ranking it first in the province.
In order to give full play to its location and transport advantages, improve its efficiency, reduce regional logistics costs and increase the competitiveness of Guizhou's commodities, the upgrade will expand the park's scale to 3,000 mu (200 hectares).
It will be upgraded as a comprehensive intelligent logistics park integrating the distribution of bulk materials, consumer goods, storage and processing of agricultural products.
And it will also integrate cold chain logistics distribution, cross-border e-commerce, B-type bonded warehouses, big data analysis of product trading and intelligent logistics operation and scheduling.
The upgrade will be divided into three phases and on completion, Niulangguan modern logistics industrial park will be a national logistics hub.
It will also be a modern logistics command and dispatch center, an information release center and a comprehensive services center in Guizhou province.
It will help to optimize and integrate the province's allocation of logistics resources.
Furthermore, it will reduce logistics costs, improve logistics operation efficiency and promote the high-quality development of logistics, as well as boost the construction and development of the Ergezhai new logistics industry cluster area in Nanming district.
