A public eldercare center in Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- will be completed by the end of this year and officially open at the start of next year, according to local media reports on Oct 30.
The project is currently on schedule and is busy with internal fittings and decoration work.
And the project site covers 23,329 square meters, with a building floor space of 10,615 sq m, involving an investment of 44.72 million yuan ($6.74 million).
In April, following public tender, Jilin Xingfuli Elderly Care Service Co Ltd was appointed to build and operate the facility.
The group subsequently invested 44.13 million yuan and after completion the facility will offer 89 single rooms and 114 standard rooms, while 406 beds can be provided.
The center is divided into a main building and an auxiliary building, equipped with 30 functional areas. These can provide services for postoperative care, elderly care, disability care, dementia care, hospice care, home-based care, community care and physical rehabilitation.
The new center will also develop a domestic service, catering service and other businesses on top of its core eldercare operations.
