The first part of the Guiyang life festival recently concluded in Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- to great fanfare and success, according to the organizers.
According to local media reports, over 60,000 people participated in the five-day event every day.
During the five-day event, held on July 30-Aug 3, there was an entertainment, culture experience and shopping area set up in the district's Huaguoyuan shopping mall.
There were also exhibitions of international imported goods and Guizhou fine goods, as well as a conference on buying international-brand goods.
More than 20 performances and interactive activities were held and a total of 307,000 visitors came to the event.
The sales of participating businesses on site exceeded 3.2 million yuan ($460,200), including 1.42 million yuan received by businesses from the province and 1.78 million yuan in sales by international businesses.
In addition, there was widespread coverage by the media with 30 news reports published, 2.1 million people views of livestreaming broadcasts and the total number of Douyin (China's Tik Tok) short videos for the event received 1.5 million hits.
Officials said a total of 62 businesses participated in the event, including 27 from the province and 35 international enterprises.
In addition to the province's intangible cultural heritage-related cultural and creative enterprises, agricultural product companies also exhibited. They were joined by Nanming district commerce and trade enterprises and Huaguoyuan business zone brand enterprises -- and Guizhou commodities such as handicrafts were also exhibited.
Also participating were companies from 18 countries including France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, South Korea, the United States and Thailand.
Their products included internationally famous brands, daily necessities, beauty products, traditional handicrafts, ceramics and food, wine and household goods.
