Nanming district, IFA sign agreements on imported food

A raft of agreements were signed on July 31 on imported food, by the Guangdong (China) Imported Food Association -- also known as the IFA -- and Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, local officials said.

The agreements on imported food followed a buying conference held in Nanming between large supermarkets in Guiyang and the IFA.

Officials said the conference was the first in Nanming district in series activities connected to the 2020 Guiyang life festival.

Under one of the agreements signed at the conference, the bureau of commerce of Nanming and the IFA will cooperate to bring in high-quality international resources, to boost the supply of middle and high-end imported food in the district.

Officials said long-term marketing activities will be held for the IFA and a channel will be established for importing and wholesaling foreign food, special agricultural products, fruit, seafood, meat, wine and other products.

In addition, the district plans to leverage existing land and sea links and the develop two-way supply channels at home and abroad.

Officials said the district will develop the medium and high-end consumer import trade, bring in imported goods from Guangzhou Ronghui Trade Co Ltd to sell in Guiyang’s large-scale supermarkets and shopping centers and jointly develop a two-way trade platform.

Both sides also agreed to establish an international commodities warehouse and exhibition and sales center, help Guiyang companies expand and develop their foreign trade, help leading manufacturers in the district tap into international markets and promote the balanced development of imports and exports in the district.
