Nanming district rolls out plan to boost employment

Nanming district in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently issued a plan to boost employment, according to local media reports on July 26.

Under the plan, the district will focus on seven main areas where it will roll out measures to achieve steady expansion of employment, improvements to the quality of employment, among other things.

The measures will also aim to improve on the public employment and entrepreneurship services system for both urban and rural areas and identify more diverse employment channels, among other measures -- in a broader thrust to ensure a stable employment situation in the district.

In terms of strengthening its policy support, the district plans to support enterprises to provide more jobs amid the challenging conditions through various subsidies and measures. Officials said that at the same time, the district will implement a policy to support the development of small and micro enterprises, to create more jobs.

In terms of strengthening its overall economic development, the district plans to develop its real economy and promote the development of major industries to develop more jobs.

Officials said that in terms of strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship, Nanming district plans to further optimize its entrepreneurial environment and help create a range of innovation and entrepreneurship services platforms.

They added that in terms of strengthening employment services, Nanming will raise awareness about the new opportunities on offer, by increasing publicity about its new policies.

At the same time, the district will introduce standardized, convenient and high-quality public employment services for its residents.

Elsewhere, the district will boost its subsidies for vocational skill training -- aiming to improve overall vocational skills -- and launch the action plan on training for all farmers.

Officials said the district plans to expand employment channels for young groups including college graduates, promote employment and entrepreneurship among key groups -- such as migrant workers, ex-servicemen, and people with employment difficulties -- and develop public welfare job positions to boot, to do a solid job in supporting the employment of people from poverty-stricken areas.

Officials added that the district plans to support workers, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of those in new businesses formats, reduce labor relations conflicts and promote the high-quality development of the human resources service industry.
