The finals of the Nanming district heat for the fourth China Chuangyi Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition were held in the district of Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- on July 15, according to local media reports.

According to Nanming district officials, this year's competition was divided into two parts: the main competition and the entrepreneurship assists poverty alleviation special competition.
The main competition was oriented towards all kinds of groups and was divided into an innovation project group and an entrepreneurship project group.
The entrepreneurship assists poverty alleviation special competition was aimed at businesses or institutions that participate in helping the impoverished or the disabled at work.
Since it was launched in June, a total of 133 projects have signed up for the competition.
Officials said that after the examination and screening by online judges, pre-competition training and the preliminary competition, 15 projects -- including six innovation projects, six entrepreneurship projects and three poverty alleviation projects – made it to the regional finals.
Officials added that, after four years of hosting the competition, major progress had been made.
They said entrepreneurship salons, project promotion meetings, entrepreneurship training, investor meetings and other entrepreneurship and innovation activities held during the competition had further promoted Nanming's big data and innovation and entrepreneurship development -- and built Nanming into a highland for innovation and entrepreneurship.
