Public and private kindergartens and primary schools at Nanming district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- are set to reopen on May 25, according to local officials said at a meeting on plans to reopen the schools.
In view of current improved novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic prevention and control situation and normalized COVID-19 prevention and control work, officials from Nanming district announced at a conference held on May 17 that all public and private kindergartens and primary schools at the district are set to reopen.
According to the officials, all schools need to make enough preparations for virus prevention and control and emergency measures in accordance with the school reopening working plan published at the conference.
Local authorities are set to conduct investigations and associated work for every school from May 19 to May 21.
They will report the results to the education department before May 23 to complete the reopening record report and then the schools will send notices to the students to return.
Officials added that at the beginning of kindergarten reopening there will be no more than 15 kids in each class.
They added that if there is no abnormality after two weeks, kindergartens can return to normal class sizes.
