Sales of key commercial complexes top 50m yuan during holiday

Sales at the five major commercial complexes of Nanming district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- reached over 50.35 million yuan ($7.12 million) during the five-day May Day holiday, officials from the district's bureau of commerce told people.com.cn on May 6.

Local officials said that as of May 5, driven by a 100-day shopping campaign launched at the provincial, municipal and district levels, shopping malls have issued a range of special offers and carried out marketing activities.

The five large-scale commercial complexes in Nanming district had a passenger flow of 362,000 people and a total sales volume over 50.35 million yuan during the break, an increase of 22.7 percent year-on-year.

In terms of catering, three well-known local restaurants had 3,648 visitors, bringing in total sales of 325,800 yuan, up 20.7 percent year-on-year.
