Officials in Southwest China's Guizhou province reported a careful return to schools by some students, as the novel coronavirus epidemic improved.
They said 788 junior high school students from Nanming district No 1 and No 2 Experimental Junior High Schools -- in the Xiaochehe sub-district of Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of the province -- returned to their schools on March 16.
According to local media reports, the schools' gates were disinfected. All the buildings in the schools also had their floors disinfected, while a temperature measurement area was set up in advance.
The staff members of schools and sub-districts guided the students to enter the campus.
They also guided them on the disinfection of shoes, temperature measurements, hand sterilization and warmly reminded the students to wear masks, not to gather -- and to enter the school in an orderly manner.
In order to ensure the smooth resumption of the classes, Xiaochehe sub-district worked with the schools to make many preparations in epidemic prevention and control, food hygiene and safety around the campus -- as well as in other security work.
District officials said that staff members of the sub-district will continue to work with the relevant departments to check the information of teachers and students.
They will also help the schools store epidemic prevention and control materials and make every effort to ensure the safe resumption of classes and exam preparations of students in the district.
