Businesses in the commercial sector in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have resumed work while at the same time making absolutely sure of their prevention and control measures for the novel coronavirus, according to local media reports on Feb 29.
To date, 113 wholesale and retail enterprises and catering enterprises above a designated size in Nanming district – meaning annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.87 million) or more -- have resumed work, with a market recovery rate of 100 percent.
All 50 supermarkets in the district have achieved 100 percent market have got back to work and of the 29 farmer's markets, 25 have resumed.
Officials said that all the gas stations, urban complexes, wholesale markets, and specialized markets within the district have restarted.
Nanming District will regularly provide epidemic prevention material channels for enterprises that have resumed work and officials said it was urging commercial enterprises to strengthen their epidemic prevention and controls.
At the same time, the district requires those who enter these places to wear masks and take temperature measurements and regularly upgrade all kinds of service facilities and equipment; and it urges companies to implement fire safety measures to ensure their safe operation.
