In response to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic outbreak, Nanming district in Guiyang has allocated 200 million yuan ($28.5 million) to prevent and controlling the epidemic and to assist the business sector restart production, according to local media reports on Feb 25.
As of February 24, the district -- in the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- had spent a total of nearly 40 million yuan for epidemic prevention and control, officials said.
Those funds were mainly deployed for the purchase of equipment and materials, the distribution of subsidies for epidemic prevention and control personnel, as well as support costs for designated hotels.
At the same time, in order to fully support companies resuming output, Nanming district has spent about 150 million yuan.
This has gone towards supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises -- as well as to larger industrial enterprises, commercial and circulation industries, the construction and real estate sectors, cultural tourism and sports and tech-based enterprises in the district.
The strategy is to stabilize companies, help them weather the hard times, as well as to make efforts to promote the smooth operation and healthy development of the region's economy.
