Nanming in Guiyang -- capital of southwestern Guizhou province -- on Jan 26 allocated five million yuan ($720,800) as the first chunk of funds for the district's emergency coronavirus prevention and control headquarters, according to local media reports.
As of midnight on Jan 30, 15 cases of the virus and 61 suspected cases had officially been reported in the province, local officials said.
In recent days, the district has rapidly implemented various tasks, they added.
It has made full efforts to prevent and control the outbreak, revised and improved the existing emergency plan for public health emergencies, checked and registered personnel who arrived from Wuhan, initially formulated an epidemic response plan and made full efforts to carry out relevant training.
So far, 24 community health service centers and three rural township hospitals centers have set up independent rooms for medical observation and isolation.
There are a total of 12,000 medical surgical masks, 200 heavy duty N95 face masks, 100 pairs of latex gloves, nearly 100 disposable surgical gowns and more than 200 sets of isolating clothing on reserve in the district.
In addition, the district has also made every effort to carry out the spreading the word about coronavirus prevention and control.
It has banned the sale of wild animals, closed the live poultry market, cracked down on price rises of medical materials and disinfected the agricultural market.
