Nanming district sets goals for 2020 economic work

The conference for the seventh plenary session of the ninth Party committee of Nanming district in Guiyang on Jan 3 established the goals for the district's economic work in 2020, according to local media reports.

Officials said the conference -- in the capital city of southwestern Guizhou province -- is one of the most important economic indicators in the district, summarizing the economic work carried out in 2019 and setting the tone for 2020's economic work.

Zou Jie, Party secretary of Nanming district and Deputy Secretary Huang Chenghong attended the conference. They reviewed the city's economic progress last year, analyzed the current economic climate and set out the work plan for the current year.

Officials said the year 2020 is the final year in the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

They added that it is also the year to achieve the first Centenary Goal -- to build a moderately prosperous society in China.

Zou and Huang said Nanming will speed up the process of becoming an integrated development district for the real economy – as well as an advanced demonstration zone for urban renewal and an innovative application zone of social governance.

In addition, the district will make every effort to promote the construction of a leading district for middle and high-end consumption and help win the tough battle against poverty with determination.

It will also work on improving its governance and its position as a core area of the provincial capital, while making every effort to promote the high-quality development of the district.

The district will strive to create a first-class business environment, make new breakthroughs in policy support and institutional linkage, formulate and implement relevant preferential measures and build a more fair and just market order.

Officials said the district will also strengthen its recruitment drive and attract more industry.

It will maintain its strategy of developing the district with top quality talent, improve and refine the legal system to attract investment and professionals, accelerate the roll-out of relevant support policies and regulations for entrepreneurs, as well as improve and optimize the policy system for entrepreneurs.

Under the plan, the district will continue to take on the responsibility of poverty alleviation, strengthen the cooperation between production and marketing, and create more job positions for people in poverty-stricken areas.

It will encourage poverty-stricken areas to start up their own businesses in Nanming district, giving full play to its advantages of educational resources, while further improving support mechanisms and measures -- and spare no effort to help meet targeted schedules to lift the remaining poor areas out of poverty.
