Lawyers offer free legal advice for Nanming residents

From 10 to 11:30 am on the third Wednesday of every month, lawyers from different law firms will take turns to provide free legal advice to the public, according to local media reports on Dec 18.

They will answer legal questions about contracts, finance, intellectual property rights, commercial real estate sales -- at the library of Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province,

The free legal advice service is a platform set up by Nanming district library in combination with the judicial office of Huaguo area.

Besides providing free legal advisory services for residents in the district, it will also carry out legal publicity activities, according to a lawyer participating in the service.

At the same time, some of the library's law-related readers occasionally discuss legal issues with lawyers, to solve questions and consolidate their legal knowledge.

Lawyers play a key role in resolving social conflicts and maintaining social stability. According to an official from Nanming district library, it is beneficial to provide legal consulting services for surrounding residents and readers.

He added that as its next step, the library would continue to carry out various legal popularization activities jointly with relevant judicial offices.

At the same time, the library would make use of the professional legal literacy of lawyers and the natural advantages of legal books owned by the library, gradually boosting the enthusiasm of residents in the district to learn, abide by and understand the law.
