Representative of the major media outlets of Guizhou province and Guiyang city on Dec 5 visited Guiyang No11 kindergarten and Erqi Road snack street -- to observe the operation of a new system for "big data + food safety", officials said.
The visit was at the invitation of the bureau for market regulation in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province.
Officials said that in order to solve problems and difficulties in market regulation, Nanming district has innovatively adopted a new a big data + food safety method.
It involves social co-governance, taking food supervision in campuses, food stalls supervision and food business license processing as its main focus.
The district carried out pilot work on a campus food safety supervision co-governance platform and on standardized management of food stalls in Erqi snack street.
According to local officials, since the end of 2017, Nanming district has focused on building a smart co-governance and social sharing platform.
This has included the key work of market regulation, focusing on improving service levels and promoting the unification of law enforcement and supervision.
Since this year, the work of "big data + market supervision" has focused on the field of food safety and explored a new path of intelligent supervision in food safety.
In May, Nanming district created a co-governance platform for the supervision of campus food safety.
Surveillance cameras were deployed at several key points in campus kitchens, and kitchens were opened to parents through the platform, so that they could monitor chefs and report issues online.
At the same time, a campus can also receive information and process feedback in a timely manner.
The market regulation bureau can monitor these campuses kitchens through the platform and comprehensively grasp the overall situation, and intervene to guide and deal with it in due course.
Officials said at an early stage, the supervision model had a trial run in 12 schools.
By October this year, the relevant departments in Nanming district had decided to promote the use of the platform to all 160 schools in the district.
At present, the hardware installation for the monitoring system of 36 schools has been completed, and the commissioning was completed in December.
In the first half of 2020, these monitoring systems will be connected to the district's smart co-governance and social sharing platform.
In late September this year, the Erqi Road snack street food safety supervision platform constructed by local authorities was officially went into operation.
This brought more than 90 vendors in the snack street into the platform's intelligent supervision.
A large supervision screen set up in Erqi Road is publicizing the information, supervision records data, inspection results of food raw materials, the ratings of the vendors -- providing real name ranking and other content about vendors to the public.
Officials said there are plans to further expand the channels of information disclosure, effectively break the information fortress, promote supervision by technical means -- and lay a solid foundation for grasping the socialized supervision of stalls food safety.
