Nanming district micro films scoop major prizes

Two micro films produced by Nanming district in the city of Guiyang won prizes at the 4th Beautiful Country International Micro Film Festival -- which concluded in Jiangmen, in South China's Guangdong province, on Nov 30.

The price for the district of Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province, also holds significance at the provincial level.

According to local media reports, one of the two prize-winning works was Guizhou's first film with urban management staff as its theme.

Its triumph for Guizhou, comes after the province won a special award in the second Beautiful Fishing Village International Micro Film Festival in November last year.

Another award-winning work is mainly about the Nanming River and the changes that have taken place in Guiyang city in the past 40 years since the reform and opening-up. It tells about some of the changes along the street and along the banks of the Nanming River.

In the southwest regional section of the competition, the two micro films achieved excellent results and participated in the national finals on behalf of the southwest region.

Officials said the two micro films got more promotion opportunities through the prize-winning.

They added that the films also enabled more people to understand the ups and downs behind urban management staff members and environmental protection workers through the art form of the micro film, so as to showcase the development of Guiyang and Nanming district in the new era.

The Beautiful Country International Micro Film Festival is jointly sponsored by China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television of the National Radio and Television Administration and the China Agricultural Film and Television Association.

Critics say it is a fair and authoritative art festival in the micro film industry.

The festival widely mobilizes professionals and amateurs at home and abroad and actively participates in publicity and promotional activities for rural revitalization.

Officials said that by doing so, the festival uses film and television to promote a beautiful China and the beautiful countryside from multiple perspectives and all-round aspects.
