Nanming district of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed strategic cooperation agreement on innovation center project with Alibaba Clound at the headquarters of Alibaba Group in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 16.
As a business unit of Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), Alibaba Cloud provides a comprehensive suite of global cloud computing services to power both domestic and international customers' online businesses and Alibaba Group's own e-commerce ecosystem.
Nanming officials said the innovation center would export Alibaba's entrepreneurial drive and business knowhow to the district.
They said the new center would provide services for technology business incubators and start-ups in the district and provide technical and other support for the development of a local mobile artificial intelligence industry.
At the same time, through Alibaba's brand influence and resources channels, Nanming is expected to attract more smart AI enterprises to settle in Guizhou.
The hope is it will attract a large number of high-quality technology, entrepreneurial and innovative enterprises to settle in Guizhou through project roadshows.
Strategic cooperation between Nanming and Alibaba is expected to effectively promote the complementary advantages and mutual benefits of both sides -- and jointly raise the economic and social development of Nanming district to a new level.
