​Nanming mulls planning and design of Huaxi Avenue (Nanming Section)

The Nanming district government exchanged ideas with the planning and designing organizations on April 10, to further optimize road construction and the surrounding urban planning along the Huaxi Avenue (Nanming Section).

In-depth discussion was conducted between the district leaders and the organizations during the meeting. Zhu Gang, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and District Head, presided over the symposium.

At the meeting, the Provincial Institute of Architectural Design, the Municipal Institute of Architectural Design and the Municipal Academy of Planning and Design respectively introduced the urban design schemes around Huaxi Avenue (Nanming section) and the planning and design situation of relevant plots.

Zhu pointed out that the comprehensive renovation project of Huaxi Avenue is a major decision and deployment made by the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal People's Government, a significant livelihood project, and an important measure to optimize the urban road network, ease the traffic congestion, expand urban space and improve urban functions. Optimization of urban planning around Huaxi Avenue (Nanming section) plays a decisive role in improving the district's urban image, extending its development potential and boosting its sustainable development.

Zhu advised that the project need to deal with "two relations" and solve "one problem" to further optimize the Huaxi Avenue (Nanming section) urban planning and design.

First, efforts should be made to handle the relation between the whole and the part, in accordance with the principle of "guaranteeing the whole and taking into account the part". Specifically, it requires ensuring that the overall coordination of urban construction and development, while balancing the interests of the individual project.

Second, it is necessary to deal with the relation between present and long-term prospects to ensure the sustainable development of Nanming's economy and society. The district's work should be based on both the reality and the visions for the future and combine the task of preventing risks at present with the long-term development of the city.

Moreover, it is required to solve the problem of market operation. Under the premise of meeting the overall planning layout, the participants of the project should fully study the actual market demand and fully mobilize social capital to actively participate in the construction of the project, so that the planning drawings may become a beautiful reality.

Attendees of the meeting also include principals from the related district departments, the townships and the communities.
