Guangdong province will celebrate the 2024 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival with a grand event on Sept 22 in Huazhou, Maoming. The announcement was made by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong province.

This year's festival aims to mobilize various forces across the province to celebrate the achievements of rural vitalization and high-quality development in 21 prefecture-level cities.

The festival will feature a series of activities, including showcasing rural vitalization achievements, an autumn harvest consumption season, and sharing stories of notable figures in agriculture. These events will highlight the new look and vibrant atmosphere of Guangdong's agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.

The main event will be in Huazhou, which is known for its rich agricultural resources and farming culture. Recently, Huazhou's Huajuhong (a type of citrus) was included in the national list of substances that are both food and medicine, marking a new development opportunity for the city.

To maximize the festival's impact, the local government will organize various "Harvest Feast, Enjoy Golden Autumn" consumption promotion activities. These will combine online and offline efforts, encouraging commercial entities to participate in promoting agricultural products and rural tourism. Digital marketing methods, such as live streaming and direct sales from production areas, will enhance brand recognition and boost sales of local specialties.
