On July 20 and 21, Maoming has set its sight on hosting the 2024 "Chinese Lychee Hometown" weekend carnival event in Tandi village, Sishui town, Gaozhou city.
Tandi village, a picturesque rural village surrounded by ancient lychee trees, offers excitement with explorations through the village, engaging with artistic performers, and joining in a lively chorus. These activities are set to provide guests with a unique and liberating experience.
The ancient lychee orchard covers an area of 250 mu (16.7 hectares), with 102 ancient lychee trees over 500 years old, including 38 trees over 1,000 years old, making it one of the four major ancient lychee orchards in Maoming. Renowned calligraphers and artists from Maoming are poised to interact with and teach the audience at the event.

Various performance groups are set to showcase their talents in the central square of Tandi village, featuring Hanfu culture and etiquette displays, singer performances, and Gaozhou's intangible cultural heritage performances. Visitors can gather around to watch, interact with characters and singers, and immerse themselves in the performances.
Additionally, visitors can savor Gaozhou's famous snacks, such as lychee wood-fired chicken and skewers, and participate in traditional tea ceremonies at the event.
