Dianbai district in Maoming is strategically leveraging its coastal resources to develop marine ranching, with a focus on coastlines, bays, and ports. This initiative includes comprehensive planning, investment attraction, and technological support for deep-sea fishing.
The district is also accelerating the construction of artificial reef demonstration zones to foster high-quality marine economic growth.
As a major marine area in Guangdong, Dianbai boasts significant advantages in industry, resources, transportation, and ecology, with a coastline stretching over 180 kilometers.
Dianbai has 10,900 hectares of seawater farming, yielding 268,500 metric tons annually, valued at approximately 5.528 billion yuan ($767.78 million). The area includes nine health farming sites and two provincial-level aquatic breeding farms.
The district is developing a modern marine ranch industry chain and advancing seafood processing. It has six large seafood processing companies.
Dianbai’s efforts in seed breeding, seawater farming, seafood processing, port construction, and artificial reef building have addressed many gaps in marine fisheries. Additionally, the district is expanding coastal tourism, advancing modern marine ranching, and continuously injecting "blue power" into its high-quality development.
