Maonan holds its 1st dragon boat invitational championship

On June 9, the first Dragon Boat Invitational Championship in Maonan district, Maoming, took place in Aotou town. 24 teams from Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhanjiang, Yangjiang, and Maoming gathered for an exciting water race.

The event attracted over 10,000 spectators, who cheered enthusiastically and captured memorable moments with their phones and cameras.

Leader Li Pei attributed the success of the Chancheng Dragon Boat Team to intensive training and robust team camaraderie. Li conveyed delight in their participation and acknowledged the remarkable proficiency of rival teams. He anticipates further cultural exchanges and competitive events ahead.

Participants expressed their gratitude for the welcoming hospitality and excellent services provided by the event organizers. Li Zhijie, the captain of the Changsha Qihang Dragon Boat Team from Jiangmen, praised the local environment and the encouragement from spectators. He expressed eagerness to return for future competitions in Maoming.

Maonan has a rich tradition of dragon boat racing. The determination of the rowers and the enthusiasm of the audience highlight that dragon boat racing is not just a traditional sport but also embodies a spirit of perseverance and positivity.
