Fox News spotlighted Maoming's Gaozhou woodcut art, where knives are used in lieu of pens during the carving process. Furthermore, The Globe and Mail emphasized Maoming's prominence as a city that was conceived flourished, and gained renown due to its oil industry.

Yahoo Finance noted that the Dianbai district in Maoming is recognized as the "Hometown of Agarwood in China," boasting a 1500-year history of agarwood collection and processing. With an annual output value close to 4 billion yuan ($551.76 million), its products are exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
