On May 25, the 2024 national e-commerce marketing arena and Maoming litchi live competition were officially launched.
During last year's competition, sales reached 3.75 million yuan ($520,833) in a single day. Throughout the event, total sales amounted to 110 million yuan over 30 days, contributing to the city's litchi e-commerce sales of 2.346 billion yuan. E-commerce sales represented 26 percent of fruit sales, marking an increase of over nine percent from 2022.
2024 marks the fourth consecutive session of this event. It mainly aims to improve the promotion of Maoming litchi through e-commerce and competitions. Maoming strives to build the golden brand of the “Hometown of Litchi” and injects new impetus into the high-quality development of Guangdong.
