Youchengxu in Maonan district, Maoming has transformed its industrial heritage into tourist attractions, promoting economic transformation and urban-rural integration.

Youchengxu is one of the projects included in the "Revitalization Plan for Hundreds of Towns and Thousands of Villages." The project not only increases the number of commercial forms through the construction of open-pit mine ecological parks, Boji Lane, etc., but also gives rise to new commercial form, such as camping, homestays, and live streaming. It promotes industrial development and is expected to receive 300,000 tourists annually.

The project integrates local resources, develops various themed micro-processing plants and industrial parks, and cultivates characteristic industries to activate local economic growth. Through the integration of production, processing, and sales, the project creates a small closed-loop system, increasing collective income, employment opportunities, and farmers' incomes. It also showcases industrial and mining cultural heritage, red culture, and local historical traditions, promoting the preservation of cultural heritage.

Youchengxu began construction and transformation in July 2022 and officially opened on Sept 28, 2023. It creates a convenient transportation network, while also promoting the development of characteristic industries and improving the ecological environment. It also showcases industrial culture and mining characteristics, bringing economic benefits and a sense of happiness. It has become part of the demonstration area for the integrated development of urban and rural areas in Maonan district, Maoming.
