Maoming held a live-streaming sales event on Sept 3, with 28 teams broadcasting live at the event, and 143 teams live-streaming attending from Xinyi, Gaozhou, and Huazhou.

Maoming, known as the city of mooncakes in China, currently has more than 200 mooncake production enterprises. The mooncake industry in Maoming is developing at an unprecedented speed.

This event stimulated online sales for over 1,300 mooncake e-commerce businesses throughout the city.

Lin Tan, head of the e-commerce department at the Maoming bureau of commerce, stated that, e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD, Taobao, and Douyin, sold Maoming mooncakes to the value of over 176 million yuan ($24.06 million) in 2022.

This activity leverages the advantages of the e-commerce community, while also increasing mooncake sales, developing Maoming's mooncake industry, and enhancing the popularity and reputation of Maoming mooncakes.
