In the first quarter, Maoming strengthened and developed its manufacturing industry.

As of February, 17 enterprises and 38 projects have entered the Maonan Petrochemical Industrial Park, with a total output value of 9.37 billion yuan ($1.36 billion) and an industrial tax revenue worth 327 million yuan.

The Maonan Petrochemical Industrial Park in Maoming, which used to be an urban-rural fringe area composed of polluting enterprises, abandoned factories, villages, and a wasteland, has been developed into an industrial hub in recent years.

China African Kaolin Maoming New Material is a company that specializes in selling high quality kaolin, ball clay, quartz, and ceramic and porcelain production machinery.

"Although the deep processing plant is still in the debugging and optimization stage, the company plans to achieve 80 percent production in 2023, with annual revenue of 400 million yuan, and taxes of over 60 million yuan," said Zhang Beiping, general manager of China African Kaolin Maoming New Material.

The 600,000-metric-ton kaolin functional material project is a Phase I project of the company, the comprehensive utilization project that can handle 2.2 million tons of kaolin is a Phase II project, and Phase III is the 750,000-ton photovoltaic glass production line project along with other kaolin deep processing projects.

The South International Automobile Industrial Park in Maoming has 12 settled enterprises, including 10 automobile industry projects and two automobile trade projects.
