The Maoming High-tech Industrial Development Zone will develop nine key projects in 2022, with a total investment of 17.23 billion yuan ($2.57 billion) and an annual planned investment of 1.49 billion yuan.

The investment of 616 million yuan was completed from January to May, accounting for 43 percent of the annual planned investment.

The Maoming Poly Olympic Sports Zone will stretch from Baomao Avenue in the east to Panzhou Avenue in the west, and Ping'an Avenue in the south to Longji Avenue in the north, with a planned area of 1247.69 hectares and a population of 150,000 people. It will include administrative, medical, educational, cultural, sports and other resources. The first phase of the project is expected to open for use in mid-to-late August.

Progress is being made on a rural living environment renovation project, with 67 natural villages in 16 administrative villages having been constructed. The length of the sewage collection pipe network is about 156.39 kilometers, with 78.63 km connected to the city and 77.76 km using integrated sewage treatment equipment.
