China National Lychee Germplasm Resource Nursery is located in Genzi town, Gaozhou, a county-level city in Maoming, Guangdong province.

The project started construction in October 2019, covering a construction scale of 535.8 mu (35.72 hectares) and boasting a total investment of about 84.5 million yuan ($12.54 million). It was completed in 2021.

The project is a key subproject of the National Lychee Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Maoming. It includes facilities to host the National Lychee Expo, as well as a scientific research center and incubation center of the lychee industry.

Its exhibition area covers 33 mu, with 18 lychee producing areas, including seven domestic and 11 foreign lychee varieties, which are designed according to each country's local culture and customs. Each area is independent, allowing visitors to enjoy the different styles of 18 lychee producing areas around the world.

At present, it has collected more than 700 lychee seeds and more than 3,500 lychee seedlings from seven provinces in China, as well as 11 other countries.
