A rural revitalization promotion meeting to deploy spring plowing and preparation work was recently convened by the Maonan district government.

Since 2022, Maonan district in Maoming has prepared materials for spring plowing in advance to maintain sufficient market supply and stable prices to ensure the smooth development of spring plowing. The spring planting plan of Aotou town in 2022 is 33,000 mu (2,200 hectares), including 23,600 mu of rice. The spring planting plan of Gongguan town in 2022 is 42,700 mu, including 29,900 mu of rice.

The agriculture and rural affairs bureau of Maonan district is giving full play to the technical and equipment advantages of agricultural machinery cooperatives, demonstration bases, as well as large agricultural machinery households to encourage and guide farmers to complete spring plowing.

At present, Maonan has 2,789 tractors, 268 rice transplanters, 144 harvesters, six seedling raising production lines, 2,500 square meters of seedling raising greenhouses, as well as 15 agricultural machinery cooperatives and 461 members. Maonan has held 12 training sessions, with more than 1,200 trainees, improving the agricultural production technology level of farmers. Since late January, various agricultural materials distribution points in Maonan have stockpiled more than 120 metric tons of hybrid rice, more than 130 tons of conventional rice seeds, 0.8 tons of corn seeds, more than 3,000 tons of fertilizer, and 20 tons of pesticides to meet the needs of spring plowing.
