The Maoming municipal government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL) on May 11.

The two sides will cooperate in further implementing the rural revitalization strategy, accelerating the modernization of agricultural areas, and promoting the high-quality development of the medical and health industries in Maoming, hence advancing the comprehensive and sustainable development of the city's economy and society.

In the meantime, they will also promote the expansion of GPHL in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), healthcare, commerce, and medical treatment, and speed up the building of GPHL into a world-class biopharmaceutical and health enterprise with distinctive industrial characteristics.

Li Chuyuan, chairman of GPHL, thanked Maoming for its strong support.

Maoming has attached heavy importance to the modernization of the TCM industry and has built a number of unique TCM herb planting bases, said Li, adding that the city's medical and health industries have strong development momentum and great potential.

GPHL is the largest pharmaceutical enterprise and the largest Chinese patent medicine production center in China. It will further strengthen cooperation with Maoming and make further contributions to the high-quality development of the medical and health industries in Maoming, noted Li.
