A commencement ceremony for 29 projects in Maoming - its key development plans for the first quarter of 2021 - was carried out in the city on Feb 24.

With a total investment of 13.7 billion yuan ($2.12 billion), the projects cover areas like transportation infrastructure, petrochemical engineering, industrial park construction and cultural tourism.

The event was held simultaneously in one main venue – Shuidong Bay New City – and five sub-venues across the city's county-level districts and counties.
