The city of Maoming in South China's Guangdong province has come third in the overall list of the province's 2020 coordinated development index report, released on Jan 21.
The coordinated development index was designed by Nanfang Metropolis Daily on the basis of the revitalization index for the eastern, western, and northern parts of Guangdong. It includes five first-level indicators, including economic growth, industrial transformation and upgrading, transportation accessibility and green development, as well as social livelihoods.

The city won second place in the industrial transformation and upgrading ranking list, moving one place higher than the previous year, and came top in the green development ranking.
In the transportation accessibility index, it also ranked first in terms of the length of its expressways, which in total are 361.7 kilometers long.
In terms of social livelihoods, the per capita disposable income of permanent residents in Maoming ranked third in the province, second only to Shantou and Zhanjiang.
In addition, a county-level region's coordinated development report was released at the same time.
Among the top 10 counties or county-level cities in the eastern, western, and northern parts of Guangdong, three were from Maoming, namely Gaozhou, Xinyi, and Huazhou.
