The competition is being jointly hosted by the Maoming municipal committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the city's bureau of human resources and social security, as well as the city's tax bureau under the State Taxation Administration.

It is expected to further implement the rural revitalization strategy, stimulate the vitality of market entities, attract more youth talents to return home and start businesses, as well as encourage more rural impoverished people to start businesses and increase their incomes, contributing to the successful efforts for the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the construction of a beautiful new countryside.

The total prize amount of the competition is 240,000 yuan ($35,832.60), with the maximum prize awarded being 30,000 yuan. In addition, enterprises, groups, and individuals that win prizes at the competition can also enjoy the relevant supportive entrepreneurship policies of the city.

He Ming, deputy director of the Maoming bureau of human resources and social security, said at the competition's launching ceremony that young people should always maintain the spirit of daring to forge ahead, innovate, and act.

"They ought to continue to promote industrial innovations, develop new forms of businesses, explore new fields, and create new growth drivers for the high-quality economic development of Maoming," added He.

Since the competition was initiated in 2015, more than 5,000 young people have participated in the competition, showcasing over 1,000 entrepreneurship projects.
