Maoming in South China's Guangdong province has been improving its infrastructure by focusing on the green space construction in recent years, with the goal of providing more choices for public entertainment and promoting its urban ecological environment.

Since 2016, the city has finished the construction of 13 parks, including Maoming Open-pit Mine Ecological Park and Pan Maoming Memorial Park, as well as completed the renovation of old parks and squares like Xinhu Park and People's Square.

To date, the per capita park green area in downtown Maoming reached 17.65 square meters, while the green space ratio in the urban built-up area of Maoming was 40.9 percent. The city has initially attained its green space construction goal of "seeing greenbelts every 300 meters and parks every 500 meters."
