The first Maoming Art Festival is set to open on Sept 29 and will last until the end of November.

Jointly hosted by the publicity department of the CPC Maoming Municipal Committee and the city's bureau of culture, radio, film, television, tourism and sports, the event is aimed at strengthening the city in culture, promoting the construction of a cultural hub in west Guangdong, improving the city's visibility, reputation, and influence, as well as enriching the cultural life of residents.

More than 20 cultural activities will be carried out in succession around the city, including public art exhibitions, a rural revitalization-themed painting, calligraphy, and photography exhibition, a singing contest, art performances, as well as Cantonese opera performances.

Maoming Junming City, Xinhu Park, the Maoming Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Maoming Library, the Land Art Park at Xiangya village, as well as Mutoutang village, are the main venues for the cultural activities of the art festival.
