Heshui village in Maonan district of Maoming is located at the junction of the Xiaodong River and the Baisha River, boasting splendid natural scenery and a profound history.
The village was founded more than 700 years ago and still preserves historical sites like ancient bridges, old temples, ancestral halls, and ancient wells. It was also an old revolutionary base during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).

In recent years, the village has been boosting the construction of a beautiful countryside. It has built 10 parks, six squares, one lotus pond of about 20 mu (1.33 hectares), and a 2-kilometer-long greenway with more than 400 weeping willows on both sides.
The Heshui Urban Ecological Wetland Park in the village covers a total area of 1,625 mu, where visitors can stroll the plank road, sit in the pavilions to enjoy the beauty of the countryside, appreciate the pond full of exquisite lotus flowers, as well as watch egrets fly up and down in the distance.
