Maoming in South China's Guangdong province saw about 660,400 passenger trips during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday that ended on June 27, generating a total of 247 million yuan ($34.95 million) in tourism revenue.
Many scenic areas in the city carried out theme activities to attract tourists, such as the Seaside Wedding Culture Festival at the Romantic Coast Tourist Resort and the Healthy Food Festival at the Yushui Ancient Royal Hot Spring Scenic Area.
Strict measures had been applied at all scenic spots in Maoming to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, including controlling the number of visitors.
