Guangdong's Maoming has won eight prizes at the Guangdong Science & Technology Innovation Conference in Guangzhou on March 25, ranking first in the east, west, and south of Guangdong.

The prizes are considered to be the top honors for sci-tech achievements in Guangdong province.

Maoming has achieved great success in upgrading its scientific research level in recent years through efforts like improving its scientific innovation policy system and enhancing support for scientific research carriers.

The project led by the South China branch of Sinopec Chemical Commercial Holding Company Limited won the first prize at the conference. 

Focusing on the innovation and industrial application of key equipment used in long-distance oil pipelines, the project has made breakthroughs in areas which were previously monopolized by foreign countries.

Currently, the research outcomes have been operated in 60 oil stations in seven provinces, municipalities, as well as autonomous regions in China, ensuring the safe and smooth operation of oil pipelines spanning 6,282 kilometers.
