Located at East street, Diancheng town, Binhai new district, Maoming city, Dianbai district No 4 Middle School was formerly known as "Dianyang Test Institute", and was founded in the 23rd year in the reign of Jiaqing.
With the assistance of Huang Zuohuai and Zhu Yuanchang, Dianbai county Junior Middle School ("Dianzhong") was founded on Sept 20, 1914 (3rd year in the Republic of China era). The school is located in the former Dianyang Test Institute.
After the liberation, the Dianzhong was renamed Dianbai county No 1 Middle School. In 1951, the people's government of Dianbai county moved from Diancheng to Shuidong, and the senior middle department of the school was relocated to the then Dianbai county No 4 Middle School (now Dianbai county No 1 Middle School). In the same year, the former Dianbai County No. 6 Middle School (located in Shuzaicupo) was merged into the school. In the autumn of 1956, the Dianbai county No 1 Middle School exchanged names with Dianbai county No 4 Middle School, so the school is now called "Dianbai county No 4 Middle School". The campus has a total area of 67,336 square meters, a building area of 23,960 square meters, and a green coverage rate of 41 percent. With two teaching areas (South Campus and North Campus), it is the only middle school that has both junior and senior middle school students in Maoming's Binhai new district.
In 2015, the school was rated as a first-class school in Maoming.
