Jida Harbor faces towards the South China Sea, with a wide sea area in the north and Bohe New Harbor on the west. Jida Harbor mainly engages in the transportation of oil products, chemical products and other raw materials and finished products necessary for coastal industry, and also transports steel product, cement, mining construction, food, mechanical equipment, container and other cargoes necessary for the construction of industrial park projects and inland city production and living. It will be developed into a special harbor to serve enterprises in the industrial park at the back.
As planned, Jida Harbor will be divided into two parts, the western part and the eastern part. The eastern working district mainly focuses on establishing large and deep berths below 100,000 ton class, while berths below 20,000 ton class are mainly adopted in the western working district. The harbor will be arranged generally with the layout “Double Harbor Entrances, Three Jetties and Six Harbor Basins”. As planned, it will build forty seven 10,000 to 100, 000 ton-class general cargo berths, with six 50,000 to 100,000 container berths to be reserved. It is estimated that the total throughput of Jigang Harbor in 2020 and 2030 is respectively 5,000,million tons and 30 million tons.
