Bohe New Harbor starts from No 325 National Highway to Liantouling that has an area of about 50 square kilometers. Initially developed in 1994, with one 300,000 ton-class Single Point Mooring device established at Liantouling, it is the first crude oil receipt and unloading system in China. 

Bohe New Harbor, with the objectives to build large and modern deep water harbors and serving inland China economy is planned to construct a batch of large, professional wharves, promote the development of petrochemical industry, energy, equipment manufacturing and other coastal industries, and develop into a main harbor in Maoming Port and an important comprehensive harbor in west Guangdong.

As planned, Bohe will be divided into two parts, the western part and the eastern part. The eastern part mainly focuses on establishing large and deep berths, while general berths are mainly adopted in the western part. The harbor will build thirty three 10,000 ton-class production berths, including two 150,000 ton-class coal wharf berths, with one 100,000 ton-class coal wharf reserved; two 200,000 ton-class ore wharves, one 150,000 ton-class ore wharf, and three 30,000 ton-class bulk berths; seven 100,000 ton-class general berths, two 100,000 ton-class container berths, and twelve 50,000 to 100,000 ton-class liquid chemical berths, with one 300,000 ton-class crude oil berth and two LNG wharf berths to be reserved. It is estimated that the total throughput of Bohe New Harbor in 2020 and 2030 is respectively 91.7 million tons and 127.7 million tons.
