The Dehua porcelain work Triumphal Arch was recently selected as an official licensed product for the Paris 2024 Olympics, celebrating 60 years of China-France diplomatic relations.
Designed by Chinese artist Bai Ming and French artist Jean-François Fouilhoux, it creatively merges traditional Chinese porcelain art's beauty into a modern masterpiece, symbolizing the purity of the Olympic Games and offering blessing to the world of sports. Furthermore, it embodies the Olympic spirit and helps promote Olympic culture.
The design of the Triumphal Arch skillfully blends France and China's most symbolically significant art forms and elements. Inspired by both the old and new Triumphal Arches, it bridges past and future. One side reflects the arch structure of the old Triumphal Arch, symbolizing the past, while the other side embraces the rectangular shape of the new Triumphal Arch, symbolizing the future.
Over ten thousand years ago, Fujian's ancestors transformed the soil beneath them into porcelain, marking an incredible journey from nothing to something. Today, Blanc de Chine from Fujian transcends borders and enriches global cultural exchanges.
