The State-level Quanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is an important part of the southern new area of Quanzhou in Fujian province. Construction of the zone began in December 1996, and it was upgraded to a State-level economic and technological development zone in June 2010.

The zone covers 12.5 square kilometers (including 3 sq km for a comprehensive bonded zone) approved by the State Council, a 4-sq-km special car base jointly developed with Jinjiang city, and a 15-sq-km Guanqiao park developed in cooperation with the government of Nan'an city.

In 2017, the development zone was awarded the title of "green development zone" by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. The park has also achieved various titles, such as a national torch wireless communication characteristic industry base, a national high-tech enterprise incubator base, and a national demonstration industrial base of new industrialization.

In a recent evaluation of the comprehensive development level of development zones above provincial level, Quanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone ranked fifth in the province in comprehensive strength, and first in the province for quality of management and service.
