Luojiang district, an important part of Quanzhou's central urban area, covers 374.82 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over six townships (subdistricts) and 86 villages (communities), and has a permanent population of 256,000.

Luojiang district has a unique location and a beautiful environment. Its forest coverage rate is 53.6 percent, and it was in the province's first batch of municipal districts awarded the honor of national ecological zone.

In 2023, the regional GDP reached 36.5 billion yuan ($5.03 billion), and the general public budget revenue totaled 3.08 billion yuan, with average annual growth rates of 5.2 percent and 12.9 percent.
