Puppet show in Quanzhou comes to a close

The closing ceremony of the seventh China Quanzhou International Puppet Show was recently held in Huian county in Quanzhou.
The event was attended by distinguished guests and artists from around the world, including Karen Smith, president of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette (UNIMA), and Chen Yingxian, president of the China Puppetry and Shadow Arts Association.
The show featured a variety of puppetry performances that was viewed by audiences from all walks of life. During the event, over 500 artists representing 35 puppet performance groups from 12 countries ventured into rural areas, theaters, schools, and squares and put up over 80 performances.
The event also facilitated cultural exchanges and interactions between different communities.
During the closing ceremony, UNIMA and the organizers of the Quanzhou International Puppet Show in China signed a cooperation agreement regarding the protection, inheritance, and dissemination of puppet shows.
Additionally, the Asia-Pacific Committee of UNIMA and Huian county signed a cooperation intent agreement to preserving and promote the art of puppetry and furthering cultural exchanges.
