7 cities establish 'Silk Road Sister City' Alliance

The 2023 "Silk Road Sister City" Cooperation and Development event was launched on Dec 11 jointly by seven major cities along the land and maritime Silk Road, including Licheng district of Quanzhou city in Fujian province, Xiangqiao district of Chaozhou city in Guangdong province, Old Town district of Luoyang city in Henan province, Beilin district of Xi'an city in Shaanxi province, Ganzhou district of Zhangye city in Gansu province, Dunhuang city of Jiuquan city in Gansu province, and Jimsar county of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The "Silk Road Sister City" Development and Cooperation Agreement was signed at the opening ceremony. The sister cities will expand the scope of cooperation and exchange according to the principle of consulting and collaborating for shared benefits to achieve a new integration of the city alliance.

During the symposium, representatives from the seven cities and delegates from domestic and overseas cultural organizations shared their perspectives on strengthening and refining collaboration and growth along the Silk Road.

This event marks the first gathering of members representing the seven sister cities, offering them a chance to engage in face-to-face discussions. The Silk Road Sister City Alliance, as a comprehensive high-quality platform for exchange, aims to optimize systems, foster synergy and advancement, and promote a win-win situation.
