The Maritime Silk Road International Street Dance Gala was officially held as part of the fifth Maritime Silk Road International Arts Festival on Dec 7.
The performance consisted of five parts: Pop, hip-hop, breakdance, children's group dance, and adult group dance. 30 dancers from China, France, the United States, Singapore, and others countries served as judges and guests. And over 1,000 dancers from 18 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, autonomous regions) participated in the performance, with 55 group dance teams among them.
Most of the programs were created in conjunction with the Maritime Silk Road and Chinese traditional culture.
Based on one of the three major fisherwomen of Fujian, Xunpu women, a program used children's jazz dance and Minnan nursery rhymes as the musical theme to showcase Xunpu women’s deep attachment to their hometown and their love for life.
Dancers praised the friendly development of the Maritime Silk Road and showcased the excellent traditional Chinese culture with their dance, presenting a feast of sight and sound
