Since the start of the year, Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, has taken various effective measures to mobilize the recovery of Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport.

The efforts have largely proven successful and currently 90 percent of domestic flights have resumed operations at the airport.

To make this happen, the municipal development and reform commission, together with the municipal finance department, accelerated the issuance of special funds to support the development of civil aviation, as well as incentivized airlines to resume and increase flight routes.

The airport also worked hard to promote the resumption of routes. While stabilizing their flight routes, resident airlines -- Xiamen Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Spring Airlines and others --- debuted new flights to Liuzhou, Yangzhou, Linyi, Changzhou, Hefei and Shijiazhuang.

In terms of international cargo, the municipal government has put together and rolled out new support policies for air freight services to promote the recovery of the city's foreign trade.

Faced with the complete suspension of international flights From March to April, Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport opened its first international cargo charter flight from Quanzhou to Manila, capital of the Philippines, transporting 60 metric tons of anti-epidemic materials.

In the first three quarters of this year, the total cargo and mail throughput of the airport reached 55,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent.
