Jinjiang sports center to open on Oct 1
The new Jinjiang No 2 Sports Center in Jinjiang, a county-level city in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, is set to open its training hall and outdoor basketball court on Oct 1.
The center will serve as the main venue of the Gymnasiade -- the 18th World School Summer Games -- which the International School Sport Federation last month announced was postponed to October in 2021 due to the global spread of COVID-19.

With a total construction area of 45,000 square meters and a building height of 18.4 meters, the training hall has one standard basketball court and four standard basketball training grounds.
The hall will host the basketball competitions of the Gymnasiade. The exhibition center, on the south side of the training hall, can also be used for various trade fairs and activities such as banquets.
While the outdoor basketball court covers 43,000 sq m and comes equipped with various types of facilities, which can hold basketball activities such as full-court games, half-court games, streetball games, shooting practices and basketball training.
During the National Day holiday on Oct 1-8, the Jinjiang No 2 Sports Center will offer specials, including entrance discounts and free coupons.
Covering a total area of 192,800 sq m, the Jinjiang No 2 Sports Center is a venue that can host world-class competitions, but is also a sports-themed commercial complex with a wide number of functions.
